| Kayaking - Causey Reservoir (24 images) |
The Causey Reservoir is about a half hour away from where I'm staying in Ogden. |
A view from atop the Causey Dam |
About time I cleaned out the inside of the kayak huh? |
Interesting rock formations lined the shores |
A look back at the launch ramp |
Only electric motors are allowed in the reservoir, a perfect kayaking lake |
A look back at the dam |
I did alot more fishing than catching this time out |
Rocks jutted out from all sides |
Another kayaker in the distance |
There were several branches that split off the main part of the lake. People were camping where they could find space, the sides were very steep |
More paddlers |
I casted all up and down these ledges and finally hooked a trout, I wouldn't say I completly caught it though since it let it's self off 3/4 of the way to the boat. |
The sun starting to set |
The colors out in Utah are incredible |
Such an interesting mix of vegetation along the hill sides. |
By the time I was paddling back, the water was completly still. |
I talked to several people fishing, we were all having about the same luck. One family just had a moose come through their camp. There are very few places they can get down to drink and they don't let a couple campers get in their way. |
Check out those sedimentary layers |
Just enough time to explore another branch of the lake. |
Let's see where this goes |
No idea who this guy is. He didn't seem to mind me. |
The fish were breaking the surface all over the place. How frustrating! Next time I need some small flies or cheat and get some live bait. |
Almost glass now. Thanks for viewing. See you next time. |
